on

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced that it is bringing the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series graphics cards to the UAE for the first time through its G752 notebook. Available to buy now, the G752 will also be showcased at Gitex Shopper this week priced from AED 11,499.

The latest graphic cards designed specifically for laptops allow users to play games with a significantly improved experience similar to that of a desktop device, but at a far more accessible price. It will also be available in the UAE through world’s most powerful 18-inch gaming laptop, the GX800, by the end of this year.

ASUS claims it currently ranks as the number one gaming laptop brand worldwide. With a 40% market share ASUS believes that its latest series of gaming laptops featuring NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series graphics and Intel K-series CPUs will secure its continued domination of the market in the UAE. ASUS gaming laptops with NVIDIA GeForce GTX series graphics have already topped the global sales charts for the second consecutive year.

Mahiuddin Khasru, Sub Regional Head of ASUS, commented: “With the gaming sector in MENA region growing faster than the global average, we are very excited to capitalise on the upward trend as the first brand to bring the NVIDIA GTX 10 series in a notebook to the UAE. We have worked in close partnership with NVIDIA to ensure an almost desktop-like performance is delivered with the notebook, at a more affordable price than the previous generation. Our aim is to ensure our consumers enjoy an exceptional gaming experience of the highest quality and we are certain that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series allows them to achieve exactly that.”

The VR-Ready NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series graphics cards provide exceptional performance and energy efficiency to give gamers incredible VR-gaming experiences. The graphics cards also feature NVIDIA G-SYNC™ technology[1] to reduce lag and stutter, and eliminate visual tearing to ensure the smoothest and fastest gaming visuals.

The G752 is currently available at Virgin Megastores and will also be available at Gitex Shopper arena. ASUS will showcase its largest ever portfolio of products at Gitex this year, including the G752, where shoppers will be able to touch, feel and buy from its smartphones, laptops, wearable devices, tablets and desktops.

Its newest ZenBook 3 and Transformer Book 3 Pro, yet to be made available in the Middle East, will be previewed at the stand for shoppers to check out what ASUS has to come. There will also be an opportunity to try out the ASUS virtual reality activation on site for a chance to top its leaderboard and win prizes including a Zenbook UX303, a Transformer Book Flip TP201 and Zenfone Deluxe.

Mahiuddin Khasru continued, “At ASUS Middle East, we pride ourselves in bringing the latest innovations to our broad base of consumers and GITEX is the perfect platform to allow them to experience our products first hand. This year, we are offering the widest range of products than we ever have before, showing our entire product range available here. Our stand will be a one stop shop for visitors at Gitex to purchase notebooks, PC’s, tablets or choose devices from our leading ROG portfolio. We will introduce first-of-its-kind activations and interactive VR at our stand, providing our end users with an engaging experience while offering amazing bundles and discounts.”

ASUS will be located at the SS 3-3 stand at Gitex Shopper from 1st to 8th October.

Review of the Amazfit GTR 3 Smartwatch in UAE

Published

on

Huami’s new Amazfit GTR 3 is a follow-up to its popular GTR 2 smartwatch. The new GTR 3 offers lots of bells and whistles without burning a hole in your pocket. The smartwatch comes packed in very modest packaging, which includes the watch itself, along with the charger, and a quick start guide.

The watch itself is quite sleek and lightweight – the company has used durable aircraft-grade aluminum alloy to build the device. The watch comes with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display that offers a pixel density of 326-PPI. The display itself is of very good quality and it makes everything look really nice on the watch face – whether it is viewing the stats or shuffling through menu options.

The Amazfit GTR 3 boasts a 66% screen-to-body ratio, and is visible even under bright sunlight, thanks to the 1000 nits of brightness. To personalise the watch, you can choose from over 100 watch faces, including 15 animated watch faces, and 8 editable watch faces.

Though the Amazfit GTR 3 runs on its own operating system called Zepp OS, it is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. In order to connect and set up the smartwatch, you will need to install the Zapp app onto your smartphone. Next, log into your Zepp account or create a new one if you don’t already have one.

Once that is done, the app will ask you to complete your profile. After that, go to the “Profile” tab on the Zepp app, and click “Add” in the “My devices” section. The app will then ask to scan the QR code displayed on the GTR 3 and then proceed to connect and set it up.

The overall design of the Amazfit GTR 3 is quite top-notch. On the right side of the watchcase, you get a rotatable crown, which when pressed, brings up the main menu screen. You can then rotate the crown to shuffle through the menu options on the watch’s interface. There is also a button next to the crown, which when pressed, brings up the workout menu.

There are over 150+ sports modes that include multiple activities within running and walking, cycling, swimming, outdoor workouts, indoor sports, dance, combat sports, ball sports, winter sports, water sports, and more. The Amazfit GTR 3 also comes with a water-resistance grade of 5 ATM – so you can go for a swim without any worry.

The Amazfit GTR 3 offers a treasure trove of health tracking features. I was particularly impressed by the “One-tap Measuring” feature, which tests four health metrics in one tap. In 45 seconds, you can measure your heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, stress level, and breathing rate. The watch also offers 24-hour monitoring of blood-oxygen levels.

In addition, you also get all-day heart rate monitoring, even when you go for a swim. The GTR 3 alerts you for abnormally high or low heart rates and tracks heart rate zones to optimise your workouts. The watch can also track and log PAI health assessments. PAI (Personal Activity Intelligence) is a science-backed health score that measures the heart health impact of physical activity.

What’s more, you also get in-depth monitoring of sleep and sleep breathing quality metrics. The Amazfit GTR 3 also tracks stress levels and female cycles, so you are in control of your health stats. The female cycle tracking feature can predict upcoming menstrual and fertile periods, too.

For outdoor activities, the Amazfit GTR 3 can track your route effectively since it supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, and QZSS satellite navigation systems. It also comes with online and offline voice assistants powered by Alexa and an Offline Voice Assistant.

For a price of AED 659, the Amazfit GTR 3 comes across as an amazing (pun unintended) value for money smartwatch that also doubles up as a fitness tracker. The GTR 3 offers lots of features found on most flagship smartwatches out there on the market, but at a very pocket-friendly price. The Amazfit GTR 3 thus walks away with the Gadget Voize Editors’ Choice award.

Logitech has introduced the new Signature M650 wireless and Signature M650 for Business mouse, a comfortable and personalised mouse with two different sizes and a left-handed option, offering a better experience for more people. The wireless mouse is designed to upgrade any desk setup and improve the overall work experience with features like SmartWheel scrolling, nearly silent clicks, and a contoured comfort design that enables faster, more comfortable work than ever before.

“There are more than a billion knowledge workers in the world, and around half of them don’t use a mouse or have an entry-level or corded mouse with limited functions,” said Art O’Gnimh, vice president of the mainstream business for creativity and productivity at Logitech. “The Signature M650 offers a true Logitech signature experience with simple productivity functions that make working all day easier and faster.”

Whether working on a document or browsing through a website, the Signature M650’s SmartWheel helps to deliver precision when needed and speed in an instant. The Signature M650 and larger size Signature M650 L also feature SilentTouch technology, reducing click noise by 90% compared to the Logitech M185 Mouse, ideal when clicking during a video call. Enjoy a strong wireless connection and a battery that lasts up to two years, giving you complete peace of mind.

With two sizes and a left-handed option, a contoured shape, a soft thumb area, and a rubber side grip, the Signature M650 inclusive design allows you to work comfortably for extended hours and gives you the ability to customize the side buttons to favorite shortcuts with Logitech Options+. Connect in an instant via Bluetooth Low Energy or Logi Bolt USB receiver.

Sustainable design considers environmental and social impacts from the moment raw materials are sourced right through to end-of-life. At Logitech, products are designed to deliver great user experiences and minimize environmental footprint, which is why a portion of the Signature M650’s plastic parts are made from post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic – 64% for the graphite, 26% for off white and 26% for rose.

The Signature M650 mice will be available in January 2022 on Logitech.com and at other global retailers. The suggested retail price for the Signature M650 and larger-sized Signature M650 L is $39.99.
