Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment Announces LEGO Worlds

Published

on

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group have announced that LEGO Worlds, a galaxy of imaginative worlds made entirely of digital LEGO bricks where players can explore, discover and create together, will commercially launch on February 21, 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and STEAM. Developed by TT Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, LEGO Worlds has been in STEAM Early Access since last year allowing players to provide feedback for continual improvements leading up to its official launch.

“In LEGO Worlds, players will go on an exciting journey to become a Master Builder, in an open-world made completely of LEGO-built environments,” said Jonathan Smith, Head of Production, TT Games. “Whether customising characters, exploring in vehicles, building structures, or discovering an expansive range of items, characters and creatures throughout the worlds, there’s the freedom to create anything imaginable.”

“LEGO Worlds expands our LEGO videogame franchise with a new experience that embodies all the fun of physical LEGO brick building,” said David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “TT Games has created an expansive, digital universe that combines unlimited creativity with the LEGO humor that fans love.”

“LEGO Worlds brings the very essence of LEGO play – building – to the digital world, more than ever before,” said Niels Jørgensen, Vice President, Digital Games for The LEGO Group. “We are excited to bring our physical and digital
play models closer together and know it will resonate with our core audience – and engage new ones. We believe LEGO Worlds has the potential to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow through its experience of open-ended creative play.”

In LEGO Worlds, players uncover hidden treasures in environments that range from fun to the fantastical, where worlds come to life with a dizzying variety of vehicles and creatures – from cowboys riding giraffes to vampires scaring
Yetis, to steamrollers, racing cars and colossal digging machines. Gamers can embark on a quest to become a Master Builder by helping other LEGO characters along the way – find a sword for a king, protect a farmer from a zombie
invasion, or build a home for a caveman.

Environments and creations are brought to life in any way fans can imagine, either by building brick by brick, placing down enormous prebuilt LEGO structures, or by using wondrous tools that let you paint and shape the landscape. LEGO Worlds’ online multiplayer functionality allows players to explore each other’s worlds together, create together, and engage in cooperative and competitive play experiences that players can build themselves.

The 4 Winds Entertainment (T4W) announced the launch of the open beta of their first major game World War 3 in MENA and Turkey. The open beta is a major milestone for the team involved, which first starts with a switch to a free-to-play model on Steam, but also the launch of the MENA servers, full localization in Turkish and Arabic including voiceovers, and a handful of local currencies supported.

World War 3 launches in Open Beta Test (OBT) starting September 29, with a head start for Closed Beta Test owners on September 26, together with a new content update, a reworked Smolensk map, and a transition to a free-to-play distribution model on Steam.

Developed by The Farm 51, World War 3 is a tactical online multiplayer FPS where the world is your battleground. Outgun the enemy in thrilling, team-based skirmishes with a vast arsenal of weapons, vehicles, gadgets, and drones at your disposal.

“As T4W, our approach to this game, and every upcoming project we have in development, is to use games as a cultural bridge between underserved regions and the rest of the world.” Said Steven Huot, CEO of The 4 Winds Entertainment. “We wanted to make sure local players experience the game to the same extent as any global one, with the inclusion of local servers, localized content.”

With World War 3, the studio has combined its signature tactical gameplay and playable realism and worked hand in hand with the team at The 4 Winds entertainment to create in-game customization options that resonate with the regional players including an initial batch inspired by modern Turkish and Arabic militaries.

The game is rated GCAM 18+, NMC 16+, PEGI 16, and ESRB T for Teen.

Sker Ritual Roadmap: Release Date and Content Updates

Published

on

Calling all inhabitants of Sker Island! The gates to the Sker Ritual Early Access are open for all who dare enter on October 13th. We’re proud to reveal our roadmap for Steam’s Early Access! By the end of this announcement, you’ll know what to expect on launch followed by every ‘Episode’ update until the 1.0 launch on PC & Console in Q2 2023. For more information, check out the Steam dev blogs, the official game page, the complete press kit and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter for up-to-date news.

Episode One; the very first map ‘Cursed Lands of Lavernock’ is near completion. The map will feature all objectives, trials and a boss fight with the only major feature missing being some of our top secret Easter Eggs. Sker Pass; a completely free cosmetic reward system with absolutely no premium pass option, just like they used to make ’em. The Sker Pass will launch with 50 free items (including masks, animated menu backgrounds, player icons, menu music, weapon charms and more) and each Episode update will offer 25 new items to unlock.

Discounted Full Game; we asked our community [including Discord members] how much they would pay for the game after having played the Alpha demo and the results were more than we were expecting. As we would like to encourage more people to play the game we decided that for Early Access, Sker Ritual will launch with a base price of $14.99 / £11.39 / €12,49 (early adopters keep an eye out in October) which will be raised for the 1.0 launch.

Additional DLC; optional bundles of themed cosmetic items will be available to purchase on the Steam store for $3.99 / £2.89 / €3.29. These are purely cosmetic to show off in-game. Languages; the initial launch will feature English only however, we are already working on the localisation for several other languages which we will implement as soon as possible.

Each Episode will be a new map update with the added bonus of some Sker story (with some voice acting) that follows on from the events of Maid of Sker. There’s been some confusion in the community about whether the game will feature a separate Story Mode and to answer that, it will not. Sker Ritual is a round-based co-op FPS and is not a replacement for a [hypothetical] Maid of Sker 2. Each Episode will add tons of new content including new maps, Elites, Bosses, objectives, trials, easter eggs and weapons. Plus you’ll get major gameplay updates on the Miracles system, an in-game communication system and so much more. Our update schedule is as follows: October: The Cursed Lands of Lavernock December: The Ashes of Sker Hotel February: Sewers of the Dead April: Deadly Lover’s Fortress.
