Reporting from Taipei, Taiwan: ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih took the stage at today’s Computex 2017 press event to present the company’s refreshed range of ZenBook and VivoBook laptops, reassuring the audience that their products are incredible. The products showcased today include the ZenBook Flip S (UX370), the ZenBook 3 Deluxe (UX490), ZenBook Pro (UX550), the VivoBook S15, and the VivoBook Pro 15.
The new devices launched today come packed with support for many new Windows 10 features. These include Windows Ink, Windows Hello, Cortana and Modern Standby. Speaking at the launch event, Shih said, “Today is all about our relentless effort in striving toward perfection. Our brand-new ZenBook and VivoBook line-up truly goes to the edge of beyond, providing everyone with a new definition of thin, beautiful and powerful laptops.”
Shih was joined on stage by Gregory Bryant, Intel’s Corporate Vice President of Client Computing Group, who said, “ASUS has been at the forefront of delivering new technology and experiences for many years. Its stunning line-up of new ZenBook and VivoBook PCs, all powered by 7th Generation Intel Core processors, give people a choice of thin-and-light PCs that merge high performance with style.”
ASUS ZenBook Flip S (UX370)
The ASUS ZenBook Flip S is the winner of a Computex 2017 d&i Awards. According to ASUS, it is the world’s thinnest convertible laptop. The product comes with 360°-flippable display, measures only 10.9mm in thickness and weighs just 1.1-kgs.
The ZenBook Flip S features Windows 10 and is powered by up to a 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7500U processor and an ultrafast 1TB PCIe SSD. To keep the ZenBook Flip S cool, ASUS engineers have invented a brand-new cooling system that includes a liquid-crystal-polymer fan impeller that’s just 0.3mm thin.
The laptop also comes with a 4K UHD multitouch NanoEdge display that supports an active stylus. The ZenBook Flip S also includes a laptop fingerprint sensor — measuring just 16 x 3.6mm — for instant one-touch login via Windows Hello in either laptop or tablet mode. The pricing starts at $1099.
ASUS ZenBook Pro (UX550)
ASUS ZenBook Pro is also a winner of a Computex 2017 Best Choice Awards. The laptop packs in a 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ quad-core processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 Ti graphics, a 1TB PCIe x4 SSD and 16GB DDR4 RAM. According to ASUS, the UX550 also features day-long battery life of up to 14 hours.
ZenBook Pro comes packed with a 15.6-inch 4K UHD NanoEdge display for an expanded view and quad-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound audio. It also features Windows 10 and is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure one-touch login with Windows Hello.
The new ZenBook Pro comes in an all-aluminum unibody that’s just 18.9mm thin and 1.8 kg light. The NanoEdge display has a slim 7.3mm bezel that enhances the beauty of ZenBook Pro while minimizing its overall dimensions. The pricing starts at $1299.
ASUS ZenBook 3 Deluxe (UX490)
The ASUS ZenBook 3 Deluxe is a winner of a Computex 2017 d&i Awards. It measures 12.9mm in thickness and weighs 1.1 kg. The entire 14-inch laptop is built into a 13-inch-class chassis. It features a 14-inch NanoEdge ultranarrow-bezel display.
The ZenBook 3 Deluxe laptop features the 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7500U processor, up to 16GB of 2133MHz LPDDR3 RAM, and a 1TB PCI Express (PCIe) SSD. It also accompanies two USB Type-C (USB-C) ports that are Thunderbolt 3-enabled with support for 40Gbps data transfers, dual 4K UHD external displays and power delivery. ZenBook 3 Deluxe comes with Windows 10 and is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor for easy one-touch login with Windows Hello. The pricing starts at $1199.
ASUS VivoBook Pro 15 (N580)
The ASUS VivoBook Pro 15 is a slim and lightweight 15.6-inch Windows 10 laptop powered by a 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ quad-core processor with up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and gaming-grade NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics. VivoBook Pro 15 features hybrid storage and can be specified with up to a 2TB HDD and a 512GB SSD. An intelligent dual-fan cooling system with a dual-copper thermal module and heat pipes ensures the system stays cool during intense gaming sessions or under heavy loads.
VivoBook Pro 15 has a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) display with wide-view technology and a wide 100 percent sRGB color gamut. It features Harman Kardon-certified audio, including twin speakers with large 8cc audio chambers and smart-amplifier technology for 3.2X louder volume. VivoBook Pro 15 has a fingerprint sensor for one-touch login via Windows Hello, and it features support for ASUS Pen. The pricing starts at $799.
ASUS VivoBook S15 (S510)
ASUS VivoBook S15 is the latest and most premium model in the VivoBook Series. This 15.6-inch slim and lightweight Windows 10 laptop is designed for those constantly on the go, with a 17.9mm profile and weighing just 1.5 kg. It features an Icicle Gold finish for a quality feel, and a NanoEdge display with a slim 7.8mm bezel that provides a larger display area for more immersive viewing.
This stylish laptop is powered by the latest 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7500U processor with up to 16GB DDR4 memory and NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics. The pricing starts at $499.
COMPUTEX 2023 Throws its Doors Open
The 2023 COMPUTEX and InnoVEX will be held from May 30, in Halls 1 and 2 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. President Tsai Ing-wen, the Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs C.C. Chen, Deputy Director-General of the EU Growth Agency Maive Rute, James Huang, Chairman of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), and Paul Peng, Chairman of the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), attended the opening ceremony of COMPUTEX.
This year is the first in-person COMPUTEX since the pandemic. President Tsai Ing-wen extends a warm welcome to participants from around the globe at COMPUTEX, the biggest ICT tradeshow in Asia. Renowned for its cutting-edge expertise in areas such as foundry, PCB, and satellite positioning, Taiwan aims to leverage this year’s tradeshow to enhance its global presence and foster stronger international collaborations. Moving forward, the government and local enterprises will continue to work hand in hand to cultivate a more resilient economy and industry, enabling Taiwan to wield a greater influence in the global supply chain.

With the ChatGPT craze sweeping the world and in addition to the exhibitors launching solutions equipped with AI technology, TAITRA has invited international technology companies to participate in the COMPUTEX Keynote & Forum. The keynote speakers include NVIDIA CEO and founder Jensen Huang, exploring how AI can reshape various industries around the world, as well as CEOs or global senior executives from companies such as Qualcomm, NXP, Acer, and Supermicro, who will share futuristic trends. InnoVEX 2023 joins hands with 400 startup teams and technology elites from 22 countries to showcase their diverse creativity. Eight countries: Belgium, Brazil, France, Italy, Japan, Israel, the Netherlands, and Poland organized national pavilions. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development led startup teams from Greece, Romania, and Egypt. The Epoch Foundation and FarEasTone Telecom Startups Accelerator also lead startup teams to participate. The exhibits cover 5G & IoT, AI & Data, Smart Devices, and other fields.

COMPUTEX 2022 Kicks off on May 24 with Tech Giants
COMPUTEX 2022 is set to kick off from May 24 to 27 and will revolve around six major themes: Accelerating Intelligence, Connected X-Experience, Digital Resilience, Innovative Computing, Sustainability, and Innovations & Startups. COMPUTEX DigitalGO, a virtual tradeshow platform, also organized by TAITRA, will take place from May 24 to June 6.
Tech giants have expressed their support for participating in COMPUTEX 2022 Hybrid. Acer, AMD, ASUS, Delta, GIGABYTE, Micron Technology, MSI, NVIDIA, NXP, Supermicro will take part in this expo. As Senior Vice President of IDC, Matthew Eastwood shared IDC’s observation on top tech trends. It is estimated that up to 87% of organizations worldwide have begun to execute a digital-first strategy and that 2022 will be the key for digital infrastructure, driving business model changes. In addition, by 2024, 75% of the Global 2000 will have ESG targets as part of their RFPs, using them to meet their sustainability goals. MSI Launches new PCs for Gamers and Creators at Computex 2021
MSI has announced a range of new devices at Computex 2021, including new laptops, desktops, parts, and peripherals. The devices extend across of wide range of lines from MSI, including its Creator, Stealth, Raider, and Leopard devices.
Creator Series Laptops
MSI announced new laptops from its Creator, Raider, Stealth, Leopard, Sword, Pulse, and Katana lines. The over a performance increase of up to 30%, thanks to their 11th Gen Intel H series processors and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 laptops GPUs.
The Creator Z16 has a 16:10 display and thin bezels to help creators maximize screen real estate on the go. Its display is available with up to QHD+ resolution with 110% DCI-P3 color coverage. It runs on up to an RTX 3060 laptop GPU and an 11th Gen Intel CPU. Alongside the Creator Z16, MSI announced the new Creator M16 and Creator M17, which have a 16:10 QHD+ display and 4K Mini LED display, respectively.
Gaming Series Laptops
On the gaming side of things, MSI announced quite a few laptops. The GE76/66 Raider, GS76/66 Stealth, and GP76/66 Leopard series laptops focus on speed, with support for PCIe Gen4, Thunderbolt 4, and Wi-Fi 6E. Display options for the gaming laptops include up to 360Hz or QHD at 240Hz.
The GE76 and GE66 Raider feature NVIDIA RTX 3080 graphics with TGP up to 165W. The Pulse GL76/66, Katana GF76/66, and Sword 17/15 are more budget-friendly gaming laptops. The more affordable options have NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics.
MSI announced that it’s sold over 3 million monitors worldwide. It hopes to increase that number with its newly announced Optix MEG381CQR Plus monitor. It has a 2300R IPS curved panel and supports MSI’s Steelseries GameSense function. It’s the first monitor from MSI to support G-Sync Ultimate, which helps reduce tearing.
Three new flat gaming monitors from the Optix line were also announced; the Optix MPG341QR, Optix MPG321QRF-QD, and Optix MPG321UR-QD, the last of which supports HDMI 2.1 and 4K resolution at 144Hz.
MSI’s new Summit MS321 UP monitor is designed for eyecare while also delivering accurate colors. The monitor has a 4K display that can be ergonomically adjusted. It also supports the MSI Intelligence App, including the KVM function, which lets people toggle between two computers with a keyboard and mouse while using the same monitor.
Moving over to gaming desktops, MSI announced the MAG Infinite S3. It features front panels with an asymmetrical design that includes MSI mystic light. It runs on an 11th Gen Intel Core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics card. The MAG Infinite S3 supports NVIDIA Resizable BAR technology, which brings a 10% performance improvement to games.
The MPG GAMING MAVERIK is a bundle kit from MSI that features an Intel Core i7-11700K CPU, MPG CORELIQUID K360 SP, MPG Z5900 GAMING EDGE WIFI SP, and MPG VELOX 100P AIRFLOW SP. It also features Trident Z Maverik memory. The core frequency of the MPG Gaming MAVERIK can be boosted from 3.6GHz to 4.8GHz for all cores. The Creator P50 desktop is a compact PC built for creators.
MSI also announced the SUPRIM 35th Anniversary Limited Edition graphics card today. The graphics card is built on the SUPRIM series foundation, and MSI states that it “retains all the same key features.” In addition to the new GPU, MSI announced the X570S MAX Series motherboards. They feature fanless cooling for silent performance.
To go along with all the new PCs, MSI announced a couple of accessories. The IMMERSE GH62 WIRELESS EARBUDS are the first set of wireless earbuds from the company. They deliver “accurate audio reproduction, clear voice recording, low-latency responsiveness, and low maintenance,” according to MSI.
MSI unveiled the CLUTCH GM41 LIGHTWEIGHT WIRELESS gaming mouse as well. It’s a symmetrical gaming mouse that connects through a 2.4GHz signal. The mouse has a latency of just 1ms and is designed for FPS players. It weighs 74g, so you should be able to scoot it around the best desk mousepads quickly.
MSI has not shared pricing or availability for the new devices at this time.
