Destiny 2: Beta Reveal and E3 2017 Gameplay Details
Destiny 2 news is going to be a big part of the E3 2017 PlayStation Experience. Not only will the game debut a new trailer, it could also provide the first Destiny 2 beta release details. Bungie have revealed more of their plans for the expo, confirming exactly what content will be available to play.
“This year will mark the fifth time we’ve entered the fray with some Destiny stories to tell,” Bungie’s David Dague explains. “It’s a journey that’s been hard to believe but very easy to remember. If you sampled the Internet during the Destiny 2 Gameplay Premiere, you saw Vanguards from our community fire their first shots in the Crucible or on a Strike. If you have a badge to deck the halls in LA, it’s your turn to fight.”
The studio have confirmed that fans will be able to try out the game’s first mission, which starts with an attack on Earth’s last safe city. Destiny’s first ever attack-and-defend mode will also be available to experience at E3 2017, alongside the game’s Inverted Spire Strike.
Bungie have also confirmed that the new Arcstrider Hunter subclass will be available to test at E3, Dague adding: “More people playing means more first impressions and more chances for you to think about the first Guardian you’ll create in Destiny 2.”
The Destiny 2 beta includes a pre-order incentive that has yet to be given a set date of release, or any information on how much content it will contain. The original Destiny 1 beta boasted a lot of playable content, launched in July and lasted a good ten days.
And fans of the new Bungie franchise would likely be very pleased if the development team decided to do something similar with Destiny 2. And in another big update, Bungie have released an FAQ that seems to suggest an open beta is being planned for the game.
This means that game could see a testing period, albeit a short one for those who aren’t pre-ordering. Non-pre ordering customers will get a turn at the new Destiny 2 beta run, although those who are buying early will get first try. It should also be noted that the Beta will be available on all three platforms, and won’t be just a PS4 and Xbox One affair.
