The Ajax DoorBell offers functionality as both a standard doorbell and a security camera. When activated by visitors, it sends real-time notifications to the Ajax app, allowing users to see and communicate with guests directly. The device incorporates motion detection for people, animals, and vehicles and can record video footage on the Ajax NVR or the upcoming Ajax Cloud Storage service. Security alerts can also be transmitted to monitoring companies without the need for Wi-Fi, utilizing its connection to the Ajax hub.

The doorbell includes a 4 MP CMOS camera with HDR technology and infrared illumination, which provides high-quality visuals even in low-light environments. Audio capabilities are enhanced with noise and echo cancellation technology, delivering clear communication. The primary communication channel for the Ajax DoorBell is Wi-Fi, with a range extending up to 500 meters in unobstructed spaces or 30 meters through concrete walls. In the event of Wi-Fi failure, the device remains connected to the Ajax hub via Jeweller and Wings radio protocols.
