Huawei has taken the wraps off its latest flagship phone series, the Pura 70. But beyond the usual upgrades like a retractable zoom lens, the Pura 70 boasts a groundbreaking communication feature: Satellite+. This innovative technology allows users to send images even when they’re completely off the cellular grid.

Satellite+ is designed for critical situations where there’s no cellular signal. It enables users to send images via satellite, potentially helping emergency services locate them. However, due to satellite bandwidth limitations, image quality might be compromised. Huawei emphasizes that this feature is for emergencies only.

To utilise Satellite+, both the sender and receiver, need a specific app called Changlian. If the recipient doesn’t have Changlian, they’ll only receive a regular text message. The Pura 70 series goes beyond emergency communication. Huawei claims the phone also offers improved wireless communication for a stronger and more stable connection in weak signal areas, thanks to a combination of advanced hardware and software (Lingxi antenna, network, and AI algorithm). Additionally, the leaked details mention a new feature allowing users to edit messages even after they’ve been sent.
