Xiaomi has announced the Mi Max 3 – its latest flagship that offers a 6.9 inches 18:9 screen. Top and bottom bezels are present, though pretty thin in relation to the vast expanse of the screen. The resolution is 1080p, so you’ll probably be able to make out pixels, but that’s not likely to be a huge concern for users that want something like this as a primary video device.
#MiMax3 that launched today is better in every way compared to the last generation: a bigger battery with a standby time of 474 hours that can double up as a power bank, a larger 6.9” full display screen, a stronger SoC and a more powerful set of cameras! pic.twitter.com/g6DrpU4sYG

Powering all this is a 5,500mAh battery, which Xiaomi has managed to cram into a 7mm-thick chassis. The company says it can be charged to 71 percent in one hour. Other specs include a 12-megapixel plus 5-megapixel dual-camera system, a Snapdragon 636 processor, up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
The pricing of the Mi Max 3 starts at around $250 for a model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It’s available in blue, black, and gold, and goes on sale in China tomorrow. No word yet on its launch in the local markets. We have reached out to Xiaomi for a regional availability update. So watch this space for an update.

ROG Strix Impact III Wireless Review: Cut the Cord, Not the Performance
The ROG Strix Impact III Wireless gaming mouse from ASUS is a lightweight contender in the competitive wireless gaming mouse market. Stepping up from its wired sibling, the Impact III Wireless sheds some weight while maintaining the core features that made the original a solid choice for budget-conscious gamers.
The ROG Strix Impact III Wireless immediately impresses with its featherweight design, tipping the scales at a mere 57 grams, without the battery and the dongle. Even though it is very lightweight, the Impact III Wireless feels surprisingly sturdy, due to its use of high-quality materials. The matte black finish is both stylish and practical, resisting fingerprints and smudges well.
While marketed as ambidextrous, the Impact III Wireless leans slightly towards right-handed users due to the sculpted side buttons located on the left side only. However, the overall symmetrical design shouldn’t cause significant discomfort for left-handed players. The size is suitable for most hand sizes and grip styles, although users with larger hands might find it a bit cramped for long gaming sessions.
The Impact III Wireless comes packed with ROG Micro Mouse Switches, offering a lifespan of 50 million clicks and satisfying tactile feedback with a crisp, audible click. These switches are also swappable thanks to the innovative push-fit sockets, allowing you to experiment with different switch types to personalise the click feel. This level of customisation, often missing in this price range, is a welcome addition for enthusiasts.
The Impact III Wireless features subtle RGB lighting located on the ROG logo and scroll wheel. The lighting is fully customisable through ASUS Armory Crate software, allowing you to choose from various effects, colours, and brightness levels. While not the most flamboyant RGB implementation, it adds a touch of personalisation without being overly distracting.
ASUS Armory Crate software provides a central hub for controlling various aspects of the Impact III Wireless, including button mapping, macro creation, performance profiles, and of course, RGB lighting customisation. The software is user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy to personalise the mouse to your preferences.
ASUS claims up to 450 hours of battery life on the Impact III Wireless with ROG SpeedNova and around 618 hours with Bluetooth. During real-world testing, these numbers held with moderate RGB usage. However, heavy use with lighting effects might push the battery life closer to the 350-hour mark. The mouse uses either an AA or an AAA battery to operate. ASUS also bundles an AAA to AA battery converter along with the mouse.
The heart of any gaming mouse is its sensor, and the Impact III Wireless boasts the ROG AimPoint optical sensor. This sensor offers a maximum DPI (dots per inch) of 36,000, adjustable through software, allowing for precise tracking and fast flick shots in fast-paced games such as FPS titles. During testing, the sensor performed exceptionally well, delivering accurate and responsive tracking without any noticeable lag or stuttering.
One of the key advantages of going wireless is the elimination of cable drag, which can hinder smooth mouse movements. The Impact III Wireless employs ROG SpeedNova wireless technology, promising a faster connection than standard Bluetooth. While the difference compared to wired might be subtle, the overall experience feels smooth and responsive, crucial for competitive gaming. Additionally, the option to switch to Bluetooth connectivity provides extended battery life for everyday use.
The ROG Strix Impact III Wireless sits comfortably in the mid-range price segment, making it an attractive option for gamers seeking a capable wireless mouse without breaking the bank. It offers a lightweight design, a high-performance sensor, swappable switches for customization, and decent battery life. While it might not boast the most extensive feature set compared to premium offerings, it delivers solid performance and value for the price tag.
The ROG Strix Impact III Wireless is a compelling choice for budget-conscious gamers looking for a lightweight and performant wireless mouse. It offers a comfortable design, a precise sensor, and a surprising level of customisation.
ROG Strix Impact III Wireless $70
The Impact III Wireless comes packed with ROG Micro Mouse Switches, offering a lifespan of 50 million clicks and satisfying tactile feedback with a crisp, audible click.
