GITEX Shopper 2018 to Open its Doors Tomorrow
GITEX Shopper 2018 officially opens at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) tomorrow (Tuesday 2nd October), with a host of new or revamped features set to lure in more than 100,000 gadget-seekers and consumer technology visitors over five days. Running in Za-abeel Halls 4-6 until Saturday 6 October, GITEX Shopper 2018 returns with the region’s best electronics deals and promotions, as well as a new Experience Zone featuring four core dedicated areas where visitors can get hands-on experiences, sign up for free tips and tricks sessions, test pilot drones and wage in esports battle at the all-new Shopper Games.
“GITEX Shopper provides consumers from across the region with the very best deals on electronics available on the market, all under one roof,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice-President, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organiser of the event. “To further enhance the visitor experience, we have introduced the all-new Experience Zone, a curated centre for testing, learning and expert demonstrations that aid consumers in the complex purchasing process.”
Regional electronics retails including Emax, Jacky’s, Jumbo, SharafDG, Axiom, Arabian Trading Agency, Al Ain Phone, KY Style Home, Naam Electronics FZE, Nishat General Company LLC, Time House Trading LLC. and Yuet Meng Trading Co Pte Ltd, as well as brands such as Huawei (Official Technology Partner), Honor, MSI, Xtouch, and Nestle will all showcase their promotional bundles and offers during the show.

As well as the latest smartphones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs, wearable technology and cameras, retailers at GITEX Shopper 2018 are homing in on the gaming sector with a slew of recently launched games, consoles and accessories at the best available prices available in the market. There are also numerous opportunities for visitors to win big prizes during the five-day event. Prizes available include an MG ZS Compact SUV, 50x AED1,000 Dell vouchers, Nikon cameras, and a daily holiday package to Tbilisi in Georgia, Baku in Azerbaijan, Yerevan in Armenia, Goa in India, and Herzegovina in Bosnia.
GITEX Shopper 2018 is open daily from 11:00am – 11:00pm. Tickets are priced at only AED 20, a reduction on last year. Entry is free for children below the age of five. Students enter for AED10.

Cooler Master Announces Winners of the 2024 Case Mod World Series
Cooler Master, a leading provider of PC components, gaming peripherals, and tech lifestyle solutions, today announced the winners of the 2024 Case Mod World Series. This popular event celebrates the world’s top PC modders, whose creativity and craftsmanship embody Cooler Master’s spirit of “Make It Yours.” The competition provides a unique platform for builders to personalize, innovate, and bring their most ambitious designs to life.
The Case Mod World Series 2024 invited participants to showcase their talent in two categories: Scratch Build of the Year, which features custom-built mods created from the ground up, and Tower Mod of the Year, where competitors reimagine and elevate existing Cooler Master cases.
This year’s winning Scratch Build, “Taiwan Five Timber” by Kuan-Sheng, Wu from GsStudio, merges nature with technology. Inspired by Taiwan’s cultural heritage, Wu’s design utilizes five types of Taiwanese timber, highlighting environmental sustainability and engineering ingenuity. Runner-ups included Stefan Ulrich, whose “ED-209” build brought RoboCop’s iconic ‘80s movie character to life, and Webhallen Config’s “W-frame,” a beautiful water-cooled gaming PC.
In the Tower Mod category, Explore Modding earned top honours with “RETROFUTURE,” an artistic transformation of the Cooler Master QUBE 500 Flatpack. Second place went to Timpelay’s “STAGE,” built on the Cooler Master Masterframe 700, followed by Rúben’s futuristic creation “BOX-37”, which modified the Masterbox 5 case.
The Cooler Master judging panel, including Pedro from PCMR, praised the creativity and technical skill displayed this year. “We’ve seen some of the most impressive builds to date,” said Pedro. “These modders bring technical expertise and a deep passion for design, making it an honour to witness their work. It truly solidifies how PC building can also be an art’”.

HUAWEI AppGallery Hosts Esports Event in Ras Al Khaimah
The AppGallery Gamers Cup – All-Star Esports Tournament, concluded with resounding success recently at the DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah. The tournament drew over 400 gaming enthusiasts to celebrate the rapidly growing esports scene turning the city into a buzzing hub for gamers. Organized under the guidance of the Emirates Esports Federation (EESF) and in partnership with Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, China Cultural Center in the UAE, Nihao!China and Lotus Cars, the AppGallery Gamers Cup – All-Star Esports Ras Al Khaimah tournament celebrated the dynamic and fast-growing world of Esports. The event brought together top gamers, tech enthusiasts, and esports professionals from across the region, marking a significant step for gaming in the UAE and beyond.
This year’s tournament featured two main competitions: Top Battle Royale Game, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), bringing a wide array of popular mobile games to the spotlight. Participants competed fiercely across popular games such as Top Battle Royale, MLBB, Asphalt Legends, and WePlay for a total prize pool of $45,000, thrilling the audience with top-tier gameplay that showcased the region’s vibrant gaming community.

Sennheiser’s Sunset Soirée Returns for Season 3
On November 13th, BlaBla Dubai’s Backroom at JBR became the vibrant backdrop for an evening of music, jamming, and collaboration. Sennheiser’s Sunset Soirée Season 3 brought together over 100 musicians, sound professionals, and vocalists from diverse genres, marking the largest edition of the event to date. The evening featured a perfect blend of music, networking, and hands-on learning, with artists exploring a variety of live performance mics and capsules, discovering innovative performance techniques, and forging new creative connections. Sound professionals, musicians, and vocalists enjoyed a unique space for connection, learning, and celebrating the dynamic energy of our local music community.
Musicians had the unique opportunity to experience Sennheiser and Neumann’s latest audio technologies with live performance mics and capsules specially designed for varying instruments, pitches and renditions. 2024 launches HD490 pro, MD421 Kompakt. were showcased with all-time favourites EW-D, Neumann’s MCM miniature clip mic system, and the MT 48 audio interface. Live demonstrations, expert guidance, feedback from peers and a knowledgeable audience turned the evening to a journey of insightful discovery for delivering the best live performances.
