Review: FlexClip

Digital content creation has become easier these days, thanks to seamless internet connectivity and the availability of multiple social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and so on. Due to this, more and more people are sharing videos online. However, not everyone is adept at slickly editing video footage they have just shot.

You may end up spending lots of time, money and efforts into perfectly editing a video. However, there are online platforms available that allow you to easily edit your videos without going through a learning curve and at the same time saving you lots of money.

One such platform is FlexClip.com, which is easy to use, but powerful video editing platform. Whether you want to create professional business videos or personal video stories to share with family and friends, FlexClip video maker simplifies the process for its ease of use and versatility. The platform offers a wide range of features such as trimming videos, adding your own or stock music, adding text, recording a voiceover, merging videos, adding video watermarks, changing aspect ratio, changing video resolution, creating photo slideshow, adding your own videos or stock videos and lots more.

In order to start using the service, you need to register on FlexClip.com. Once you have registered, you can choose your subscription model. FlexClip offers three pricing models – the Free option allows you to create a maximum of 12 projects, and use one stock footage per project. The video length will be limited to 1 minute and you can download the final video in 480p resolution.

The Basic plan, which is priced at $4.99 per month for an annual commitment, allows you to have a maximum of 50 projects and you can use 5 stock videos per project. The final video under this plan will be in 720p resolution and the length of the video can be up to 3 minutes long. The Plus plan, which is priced at $7.99 per month for an annual commitment, allows you to create a maximum of 200 projects and use unlimited stock footage. The final video will be downloaded on 1080p resolution and the video itself can be up to 5 minutes in length.

Once you have chosen the subscription plan you want to go ahead with, it is time to create your first video. Click on “Create” on the top menu and then click on the “Get Started” button. You will be taken to the “My Projects” area which lists all the projects you have created using FlexClip. You can either choose one of the existing videos and start editing it, or you can click on “Create New” to start a fresh video project.

You can then choose the template you would like to start with or you can click “Start From Scratch” to create a video from scratch. On the next screen, you will see the storyboard of the video at the bottom of the screen. From the left area, you can choose the text effects, add music, add watermark and change the aspect ratio. When you mouse over on the “Storyboard” you will be presented with three options: Add Stock Media, Add Local Media and Add Background.

If you click on Add Stock Media, you will be taken to a section where you can choose between stock videos or images from the FlexClip library. Once you choose the video, you can either trim the video to your liking or use the video in your storyboard directly.

You can then add text, choose the text effects, add background music, and so on. Once you are satisfied with the video, you can either Preview the video or click on Export Video to export your final video.

The resolution and quality of your final video will depend upon the subscription package you choose. If you have a Free plan, you will only be able to download the final video in 480p format.

If you want to download in 720p or 1080p formats, you either need to upgrade to Basic or Plus plan. If you choose not to upgrade your package, you can still download the video in 720p or 1080p formats for free, but the downloaded video will have a FlexClip watermark.

Using the platform is very easy and intuitive. There is no major learning curve involved and the platform is quite robust. The collection of text effects, templates, stock footage, music and so on, is also very good. If you are a person who would like to use a video editing platform and don’t want to bother with referring through pages and pages of the knowledge base, FlexClip is a good place to start.
