While the car looks excellent on the outside, it does have a few tricks up its sleeve when it comes to its interiors.

In terms of its placement, the Kona fits between Hyundai’s smaller Venue and the company’s hunky Palisade. In terms of design elements, on the front, you get a twin headlight design with LED daytime running lights. On the sides, you get sculpted lines and stylish edge, while at the rear, you get voluminous and aggressive styling, that emphasises the car’s well-proportioned, dynamic silhouette.

The Kona is an out and out design-focused SUV that is out to appeal the fashion-conscious driver. The Kona’s interior is brilliantly designed. There is a head-up display which projects vital and relevant information placed in the driver’s line of sight. A floating navigation touchscreen is placed ergonomically such that the driver does not have to take his/her eyes off the road to navigate.

You also get a host of safety and driver assistance systems. Features include Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning. Hyundai Smart Sense active safety measure and various driver assistance tech along with the aforementioned features make the Kona one of the safest vehicles in its segment.

What’s more, the 2019 Hyundai Kona also boasts of a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. Under the hood, the 2019 Hyundai Kona is powered by a 2.0-litre inline-four motor capable of 147hp and 178Nm, paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox. Colour options for the Hyundai Kona include Lime, Orange, and Red.

In terms of comfort, the Kona scores quite well for good legroom and headroom, and overall cargo capacity. With the rear seats up, 19.2 cubic feet of space is available, and when the rear seats are folded, only 45.8 cubes are available. Technology is filled to the brim in the Hyundai Kona.

Apart from its 8-inch infotainment system, you get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you opt for the Kona Ultimate, you also get a 4.2-inch colour information display between its gauges, a head-up display, wireless smartphone charging, and an upgraded Krell audio system with eight speakers.

The Kona scores well in the performance and handling department. The Hyundai Kona features competent suspension, accurate steering, and good powertrain. The overall ride quality is quite good for a subcompact SUV. The Kona also offers a very good file economy.
