2K today announced that the Company will donate $500,000 to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as the culmination of a partnership and fan activation surrounding the launch of WWE 2K20 earlier this fall. The donation will support breakthrough blood cancer research to advance lifesaving treatments and critical support for patients and their families.
2K announced a partnership with LLS in September, aligning with the Company’s selection of WWE 2K20 cover Superstar and leukemia survivor Roman Reigns. The combined efforts of 2K, WWE and Reigns will support LLS’s mission, including its new Children’s Initiative, a comprehensive effort to take on pediatric cancer through more research grants and expanded free education and support services. 2K issued a call to action via the WWE Games Twitter account, urging consumers to retweet and spread the LLS message, as well as the donation link, with 2K committing to make a donation for every retweet – up to a maximum donation commitment of $500,000. 2K is happy to now confirm that the maximum amount of $500,000 will be donated.
“We are proud of the support our fans have shown to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society,” said Chris Snyder, Vice President of Marketing for 2K. “With their retweets and personal contributions, our partnership with this great patient advocacy organization enables us to give back in a meaningful way and help save lives.”
In addition to its financial commitment, 2K will provide copies of Company-published video games to blood cancer patients, as well as coordinate visits with 2K personnel and WWE Superstars to LLS hospital partners. 2K previously hosted LLS leaders, patients and their families at a WWE 2K20 promotional event in Las Vegas in October, giving them an opportunity to play WWE 2K20 prior to its release. The attendees also met several WWE Superstars, including WWE 2K20 cover Superstars Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch.
“I was honoured to be among the first to preview this exciting new WWE 2K offering, and to personally thank 2K’s executives for their support for LLS,” stated Louis J. DeGennaro, PhD, LLS President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are grateful to our partners at WWE and Roman Reigns for introducing us to 2K and their legions of fans, as we aim to create widespread awareness for our mission, and our significant investment in cutting-edge research to advance new treatments and cures for cancer patients, including children with cancer and their parents.”

The 4 Winds Entertainment (T4W) announced the launch of the open beta of their first major game World War 3 in MENA and Turkey. The open beta is a major milestone for the team involved, which first starts with a switch to a free-to-play model on Steam, but also the launch of the MENA servers, full localization in Turkish and Arabic including voiceovers, and a handful of local currencies supported.
World War 3 launches in Open Beta Test (OBT) starting September 29, with a head start for Closed Beta Test owners on September 26, together with a new content update, a reworked Smolensk map, and a transition to a free-to-play distribution model on Steam.

“As T4W, our approach to this game, and every upcoming project we have in development, is to use games as a cultural bridge between underserved regions and the rest of the world.” Said Steven Huot, CEO of The 4 Winds Entertainment. “We wanted to make sure local players experience the game to the same extent as any global one, with the inclusion of local servers, localized content.”
With World War 3, the studio has combined its signature tactical gameplay and playable realism and worked hand in hand with the team at The 4 Winds entertainment to create in-game customization options that resonate with the regional players including an initial batch inspired by modern Turkish and Arabic militaries.
The game is rated GCAM 18+, NMC 16+, PEGI 16, and ESRB T for Teen.
Sker Ritual Roadmap: Release Date and Content Updates
Calling all inhabitants of Sker Island! The gates to the Sker Ritual Early Access are open for all who dare enter on October 13th. We’re proud to reveal our roadmap for Steam’s Early Access! By the end of this announcement, you’ll know what to expect on launch followed by every ‘Episode’ update until the 1.0 launch on PC & Console in Q2 2023. For more information, check out the Steam dev blogs, the official game page, the complete press kit and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter for up-to-date news.
Episode One; the very first map ‘Cursed Lands of Lavernock’ is near completion. The map will feature all objectives, trials and a boss fight with the only major feature missing being some of our top secret Easter Eggs. Sker Pass; a completely free cosmetic reward system with absolutely no premium pass option, just like they used to make ’em. The Sker Pass will launch with 50 free items (including masks, animated menu backgrounds, player icons, menu music, weapon charms and more) and each Episode update will offer 25 new items to unlock.
Discounted Full Game; we asked our community [including Discord members] how much they would pay for the game after having played the Alpha demo and the results were more than we were expecting. As we would like to encourage more people to play the game we decided that for Early Access, Sker Ritual will launch with a base price of $14.99 / £11.39 / €12,49 (early adopters keep an eye out in October) which will be raised for the 1.0 launch.
Additional DLC; optional bundles of themed cosmetic items will be available to purchase on the Steam store for $3.99 / £2.89 / €3.29. These are purely cosmetic to show off in-game. Languages; the initial launch will feature English only however, we are already working on the localisation for several other languages which we will implement as soon as possible.
Each Episode will be a new map update with the added bonus of some Sker story (with some voice acting) that follows on from the events of Maid of Sker. There’s been some confusion in the community about whether the game will feature a separate Story Mode and to answer that, it will not. Sker Ritual is a round-based co-op FPS and is not a replacement for a [hypothetical] Maid of Sker 2. Each Episode will add tons of new content including new maps, Elites, Bosses, objectives, trials, easter eggs and weapons. Plus you’ll get major gameplay updates on the Miracles system, an in-game communication system and so much more. Our update schedule is as follows: October: The Cursed Lands of Lavernock December: The Ashes of Sker Hotel February: Sewers of the Dead April: Deadly Lover’s Fortress.
