Nokia Just Launched its First Smart TV in India Through Flipkart

Flipkart, one of India’s leading e-commerce marketplaces, has announced that it has entered into a strategic relationship with Nokia that grants it the use of the Nokia brand for Smart TVs in India – a global first for the brand in the TV category. In line with this, Flipkart will leverage its understanding of the needs of Indian consumers to develop, facilitate the manufacturing and distribution of the Nokia branded Smart TVs, while managing the end-to-end go-to-market strategy.

As per industry reports, digitally influenced shoppers are set to significantly drive up demand for consumer durables in India over the next five years. Flipkart is leveraging the increasing prevalence of online shopping in metros, Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, combined with vast amount of consumer insights and feedback, to strengthen its presence in this segment.

Flipkart’s strong track record of using technology to create best-in-class experiences for its large and growing pan-India consumer base helped establish it as the partner of choice for Nokia, a brand trusted globally for its design and technology expertise. The Nokia branded Smart TVs will feature superior audio quality powered by JBL’s sound program, an initiative by HARMAN to expand the uses of its audio expertise further.

JBL by HARMAN is known for high-quality audio equipment, and this will be its first foray into the television space in India. The partnership is backed by Flipkart’s consumer insights, which found that poor sound quality and experience is a major pain point for customers purchasing televisions.

Elgato Intros Facecam MK.2 Webcam with HDR and Privacy Shutter

Elgato has announced the launch of its latest webcam, the Facecam MK.2, which builds upon the success of its predecessor with new features and improved capabilities. The Facecam MK.2 is a 1080p60 webcam designed for creators and professionals, offering high-quality video with true-to-life colours and details.

The webcam now supports high dynamic range (HDR) technology for better colour accuracy and detail, even in challenging lighting conditions. A new privacy shutter allows users to easily cover the lens for added security. Users can adjust the camera angle with pan and tilt functions, and zoom in for a closer view.

Enhanced sensitivity ensures better video quality in low-light environments. A redesigned mount and smaller form factor allow for more seamless integration into workspaces and improved eye contact during video calls. The camera can capture slow-motion video at 120 frames per second in 720p HD resolution.

Elgato’s Principal Vision Architect, Rolf Bartz, emphasized the improvements in the Facecam MK.2, stating, “Facecam MK.2 builds on this legacy, improving in almost every aspect while offering more software control and more lighting versatility.” The Facecam MK.2 is available for order from Amazon here for $149.99. Both devices come with security features such as Knox Vault, as well as new photography capabilities inspired by Galaxy’s flagship camera innovations and a stunning display that adjusts to users’ surroundings with Vision Booster.
