Top 3 CS:GO Players Hit $5.1 Million in Overall Earnings in January 2020

Esports market is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, bringing huge profits for the most talented gamers. Some of the leading eSports tournaments globally have prize pools worth millions, with more money being put on the line each year and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is on that list. The top three CS:GO players in the world hit $5.1 million in overall earnings as of January 2020.

Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth, currently leads the earnings table for eSports players of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with $1.74 million profit so far. A 24-year old Danish gamer is a member of team Astralis and has competed in 150 tournaments.

His fellow countryman, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, ranked second with earnings also exceeding $1.74 million. A 26-year old player has competed in 136 tournaments so far. A Danish gamer Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz ranked third, with the overall earnings of $1.7 million profit from 130 tournaments.

The cumulative prize pool of the online shooting game reached $18.2 million in 2019, which ranked the CS:GO as the third-largest eSports tournament in the world.

Although CS:GO was released seven years ago, the online shooting game is still top-rated and has developed a cult following. The 2019 statistics showed that Counter-Strike had more than 20 million monthly active users, or double the 2016 figures.

Also, the number of Counter-Strike current players on Steam has been constantly growing over the last six months, reaching 767 thousand gamers in December 2019. The game reached its record high peak concurrent player number in April 2016, with nearly 850.5 thousand gamers playing at the same time.

NBA Megastar Stephen Curry Coming to PGA TOUR 2K23

PGA TOUR 2K23 cranks up the star power with the introduction of Stephen Curry as a playable golfer. The four-time NBA Champion, 2022 Finals MVP, and eight-time All-Star, widely considered the greatest shooter in NBA history, has earned no shortage of accolades on the court. When he’s not sinking deep threes, he’s sinking putts on the golf course, is an avid golf fan, and welcome addition to the PGA TOUR 2K23 roster. Stephen Curry will be available to all players as a free download at launch and decked out in a distinctive Under Armour Curry Iso-Chill Golf adjustable cap, Charged Curry SL shoes, Curry Polar polo shirt, and Curry Limitless shorts.

But Curry isn’t alone in stepping off the hardwood and onto the dance floor. Basketball legend Michael Jordan will also be playable at launch for players who pre-order PGA TOUR 2K23 Standard Edition or purchase the Deluxe Edition or Tiger Woods Edition. Jordan is included in the Michael Jordan Bonus Pack**. Players can tee up a head-to-head competition between the two basketball greats in Exhibition play locally or online*** to determine which hoops star is the greater links legend or take on an elite roster of PGA TOUR pros including Tiger Woods, Xander Schauffele, Tony Finau, Brooke Henderson, Lydia Ko, and more.

Acer Launches the EMEA Predator League 2022 eSports Tournament for Rocket League Fans

Acer has announced the EMEA Predator League 2022, bringing its commitment to grassroots eSports to the next level: a new game, more countries, bigger prize pool. From September to November, teams from the EMEA region, regardless of their skill level, can compete in the high-powered arcade-style soccer and vehicular mayhem game “Rocket League” in the popular 3 vs 3 modes.

In addition to action-packed eSports fun and fantastic prizes, the 2022 edition will also offer exclusive promotions from 15 local retail partners, as well as community giveaways, raffles, and much more. “We are very excited to announce the second season of the EMEA Predator League after its initial season in 2020,” said Hajo Blingen, Vice President Marketing, Acer Europe, Middle East & Africa. “With our World Leading Gaming Portfolio, it is important to always reinvent ourselves. Eligible for the National Qualifier are teams from the following countries and regions:

  1. Europe: Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg), DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Nordics (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden), Spain, Czech Republic, Turkey, Hungary, United Kingdom (UK)
  2. Middle East: Egypt, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia (KSA)
  3. Africa: South Africa

Two out of three players need to be residents of the respective country. The matches on the virtual pitch are played 3 vs 3. In the first stage, teams compete in the National Qualifiers. There are two qualifier rounds per country. The two best teams from each round qualify for the National Finals. The winner of the finals will participate in the EMEA International Final competing against the champions from other countries. The National Finals in the Middle East will be on 12th November and will be broadcasted live on TWITCH with the grand final taking place November 20th on twitch.tv/PredatorGaming

World War 3 Launches in Open Beta Test in MENA and Turkey on September 29th

The 4 Winds Entertainment (T4W) announced the launch of the open beta of their first major game World War 3 in MENA and Turkey. The open beta is a major milestone for the team involved, which first starts with a switch to a free-to-play model on Steam, but also the launch of the MENA servers, full localization in Turkish and Arabic including voiceovers, and a handful of local currencies supported.

World War 3 launches in Open Beta Test (OBT) starting September 29, with a head start for Closed Beta Test owners on September 26, together with a new content update, a reworked Smolensk map, and a transition to a free-to-play distribution model on Steam.

Developed by The Farm 51, World War 3 is a tactical online multiplayer FPS where the world is your battleground. Outgun the enemy in thrilling, team-based skirmishes with a vast arsenal of weapons, vehicles, gadgets, and drones at your disposal.
