Peugeot Launches the new 5008 SUV

Peugeot has unveiled the facelifted 5008 SUV in the GCC. With a bold new style, it is establishing the design codes of tomorrow whilst offering higher calibre and modernity, with a redesigned front end, new Full LED rear lights and new body colours the new Peugeot 5008 is also a spacious SUV with a design with enough room for the entire family.

The new 5008 is offered with a 1.6 litre turbo engine coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission producing 165 hp and 240 Nm of torque with manual and sports mode available for those who prefer a dynamic driving experience. The engine is in-line with the latest Euro 4 standards and has undergone stringent and successful hot weather testing prior to its release in the region. Not only is it strong and reliable, but similarly to the 2008 and 3008, it promises unrivalled fuel economy averaging 15.1 kilometres/litre.

The 5008 features cutting-edge technology – including the latest evolution of its trademark Peugeot i-Cockpit which includes:

  • A compact steering wheel
  • 8-inch HD touch-screen found in the Active line
  • 10-inch HD touch-screen found in the Allure and GT models
  • Head-up display unit with a high-resolution 12.3-inch digital screen

The central touch-screen is perfectly positioned and accompanied by seven ‘piano key’ toggle switches which operate the main i-Cockpit features: radio, air conditioning, navigation, vehicle settings, telephone, phone mirroring, ambient-lighting in addition to multi-point seat-massage. Entirely customisable with six different display modes, the i-Cockpit heads up display unit is positioned above the steering wheel and presents driving information within the eye line of the driver.

The 5008 offers a wide range of the latest-generation driving aids including:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Latest-generation Active Safety Brake
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Driver Attention Alert
  • High Beam Assist
  • Blind Spot Monitoring system
  • Visiopark 2 (360° vision)

To ensure a connected travel experience, information is integrated into the central screen thanks to Screen Mirroring compatibility including a MirrorLink connection, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 5008 SUV also features three identical, separate, and entirely adjustable seats, with a third row of two fold-away, retractable seats available as an option too, provide more space where needed. The large loading volume of the 5008 SUV’s boot is entirely customisable based on your driving needs. With an especially low loading sill, a boot capacity of up to 780 litres, and passenger seating that folds down to form a table top so that items of up to 3.2m in length can be loaded

The 5008’s design shows a dominant yet elegant presence, intertwined with the cosy luxurious interior. It features a panoramic sunroof, and different colour trims including the optional, beautifully crafted, black Nappa leather and Alcantara or Red Nappa leather upholstery. The interior design of the 5008 is bold, with style based on Peugeot’s new design language. As expressive as always, the signature 3D LED claws are once again a feature in the 5008. Be it day and night, you’ll find it on the rear end on all versions and in the projectors of high-end versions. The 5008 is a prime example of what happens when a company knuckles down and ushers in a new era of design and functionality.

For 2021, the 5008 will be available for customers in the GCC in March.
