Fitbit has launched the new Charge 5 that helps users track their fitness, stress, heart health, sleep, and overall wellbeing. With a brighter, colour touchscreen and up to seven days of battery life, the Charge 5 delivers the convenience features you need to focus on what’s most important.
And, with six months of Fitbit Premium included, users get deeper insights, actionable guidance, and a range of more than 500 workouts, plus mindfulness and nutritional content to empower users to do what’s best for their body each day.
With Fitbit Premium’s new Daily Readiness experience, coming soon to Charge 5, as well as Sense, Versa 3, Versa 2, Luxe, and Inspire 2 devices, users can understand if their body is ready for a workout or if they should prioritise recovery instead. Each morning, users will receive a score based on their fitness fatigue (activity), heart rate variability (HRV), and recent sleep.
Users will also get an analysis of what impacted their score, and suggestions like a recommended target Active Zone Minutes goal, along with Premium content to help them make the best decisions for their body. Charge 5 also includes built-in GPS, 20 exercise modes, automatic exercise recognition, and an estimate of their V02 max.
Plus, with Premium, users can access more than 200 workouts from certified trainers and popular brands such as Daily Burn, barre3, obé and new high-energy workouts from LES MILLS. To help users better manage stress, Charge 5 is the company’s first tracker to include an EDA sensor, which measures a user’s body’s response to stress through tiny changes in the sweat glands on their fingers.
Fitbit first launched EDA with Fitbit Sense and has found 70% of users reduced their heart rate during a two-minute EDA Scan session, showing these tools can help reduce stress. With Charge 5 users also get a Stress Management Score in the Fitbit app, so they can see each morning if they’re mentally ready to take on more challenges, or if they need to recharge.
With Premium, users get access to more than 300 meditation and mindfulness sessions from brands and experts, such as Ten Percent Happier and Mindful Method by Deepak Chopra to help users manage their stress. The company is also announcing a partnership with Calm, which will soon provide Premium members with access to Calm content.
Charge 5 tracks a user’s heart rate 24/7 and provides notifications when they are above or below their personal ranges, and while many factors can affect heart rate, a high or low heart rate may be an indication of a heart condition that requires medical attention. In addition to managing their heart’s health, Charge 5 provides a holistic view of other key wellness metrics via the Health Metrics dashboard in the Fitbit app, including breathing rate, skin temperature variation, and SpO2. With Premium, users can also track long-term trends and personal ranges.
And because sleep is also critical to wellbeing, users will continue to receive industry-leading sleep tools such as daily Sleep Score, Sleep Stages, and SmartWake alarms. Premium members also receive a deeper analysis and guidance to improve sleep quality. Ten percent thinner than its predecessor, Charge 5 has an aerodynamic design and is optimized for performance and engineered for a seamless fit.
With a new AMOLED color display, Charge 5 is the company’s first tracker with an always-on display option for added convenience to see stats or while training. The display is also two times brighter than its predecessor making it easy to see stats on sunny days. Users can also switch up their look at any time, choosing from lightweight silicone infinity bands, breathable sport bands, plush nylon hook, and loop bands, and hand-crafted premium Horween leather bands.
Charge 5 will be available for AED 799, which includes a six-month Premium membership (for new or returning customers). It will be available online and in-stores in the UAE this fall through Amazon, Noon, Namshi, Virgin Megastore, GO Sport, Sharaf DG, Jumbo Electronics, LuLu, E-max, Dubai Duty Free, and other retailers.

A few days ago, gaming accessories major Corsair, announced the new M65 RGB Ultra Wireless gaming mouse on the market. The company sent us a review unit to test out its prowess and we are glad to report, it performed exceptionally well.
The Corsair M65 RGB Ultra Wireless tunable gaming mouse comes packed in an alluminium frame and offers two ways to get wirelessly connected to your gaming PC or laptop. You can choose from either the sub-1ms Corsair Slipstream Wireless or through Bluetooth.
The accuracy of the gaming mouse is powered by a 26,000-dpi Marksman optical sensor and optical Omron switches.
You also get a six-axis gyro, which allows for ultra-low lift-off detection. You also get help from its 2000Hx hyper-polling that lets you perform actions two times faster than traditional wireless mice.
Just like its wired M65 RGB Ultra sibling, the M65 RGB Ultra Wireless also comes with six removable weights.
These are split into four sections such as internal weight, external weight, both, or neither. In addition to shifting the weight from 110 grams up to 128 grams, the weights are also distributed to adjust the center of gravity.
You also get eight programmable buttons on the M65 RGB Ultra Wireless, which is perfect for those who would like to customise their gaming mice to perfection.
In addition to the left-click and right-click, you also have access to the forward and back thumb buttons, up and down DPI adjustment, and the thumb sniper button, which is an iconic feature on the M65 range of gaming mice.
As mentioned earlier, for wireless connectivity, you can either use Corsair’s Slipstream wireless technology or Bluetooth.
You can toggle between them on the bottom of the mouse, as per your usage pattern. In terms of battery life, Corsair claims the M65 RGB Ultra Wireless offers up to 120 hours without the RGB lighting when using Bluetooth and 90 hours when using Slipstream.
What’s more, the mouse also automatically sleeps after 15 minutes of idle time. It is also good to know that Corsair has added a USB Type-C port for the charging functionality.
Corsair’s iCue software meanwhile, allows you to customise the RGB lighting and change button assignments, including mapping macro functions to any of the buttons.
Once you have everything set, you can even store your settings such as DPI, lighting, and macro profile on the mouse to use it without having to use iCue.
For a price of $129.99, the Corsair M65 RGB Ultra Wireless is one of the best gaming mice out there on the market. The build quality is excellent, it offers good performance, optical switches, a massive battery, and USB-C connectivity for charging. Jabra Adds Three New Products to its Elite True Wireless Line-up
Jabra has announced the launch of three products to establish its new Elite true wireless line-up – the Elite Pro, Elite Active, and core Elite lines. The additions include the Jabra Elite 7 Pro, a revolutionary product that features Jabra MultiSensor Voice technology, offering best-in-class call performance. Jabra is also releasing the Elite 7 Active with pioneering ShakeGrip coating, perfect for those active lifestyles. Finally, the third addition to the range is the Jabra Elite 3, which brings fantastic sound while on the go to a wide audience.
This redefined Elite range signifies the latest breakthrough in true wireless technology: each one is specifically engineered to reinvent the true wireless experience as you know it by introducing new and unique technologies optimised for specific use cases in a sleek and modern design. As one of the first companies to introduce true wireless technology, Jabra has taken six generations worth of learning and is reinventing true wireless to better fit with the needs of today’s millions of true wireless users.
The new Elite range is tailored for specific use scenarios. Jabra’s new Pro category is designed for those who want the best of the best for calls and music, allowing users to experience true wireless without limits. Jabra’s Active category is tailored for sports and active lifestyles and the earbuds are specifically engineered to stay put when you sweat. Finally, Elite 3 makes up part of Jabra’s core category, a new standard for entry-level, on-the-go sound.
Jabra MultiSensor Voice
The introduction of innovative Jabra MultiSensor Voice technology for the Elite 7 Pro delivers ultimate call clarity, even in the noisiest places. More people are connecting through voice: Voice calling increased year on year in 2021 and is the number two use case after music. Jabra MultiSensor Voice combines a bone conduction sensor, four microphones, and algorithms to ensure crystal clear calls. Jabra’s expertise in developing intelligent algorithms resulted in the engineering of one of the first consumer earbuds that use this hybrid technology.
A cutting-edge voice pick-up (VPU) sensor in both earbuds makes Jabra MultiSensor Voice so effective. The intelligent algorithms constantly analyse the types of noise being picked up by the built-in microphones, and when they detect wind noise, they automatically activate the VPU sensor. Bone conduction technology is used to transmit voice via the vibrations in the jawbone, and the intelligent algorithm then uses the best combination of the bone conduction sensor and microphones to transmit the best call clarity.
In addition, adjustable Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) creates a fully immersive experience. Sound can be personalised even further by creating a personalised audio profile with Jabra MySound technology and using HearThrough – a technology that allows the user to define exactly how much outside noise they want to let in. The Elite 7 Pro earbuds are 16 percent smaller than the hugely popular Jabra Elite 75t, which are Jabra’s smallest earbuds so far.
By leveraging Jabra’s database of 62,000 unique ear scans, the technology pioneer was able to create a map of the average human ear and use the insight to totally redesign the earbud. Then, after excessive testing, Jabra has been able to produce an earbud that offers exceptional sound quality and optimised comfort. The all-encompassing earbuds come with nine hours of non-stop playtime with ANC and 35 hours with case charging, with fast charging that delivers 1.2 hrs of power in just 5 minutes. The Elite 7 Pro comes with Alexa built-in, Siri and Google Assistant.
Jabra ShakeGrip Technology
For those who are looking for the best fit for an active lifestyle, the Jabra Elite 7 Active is specifically engineered to suit them. Save for the Multisensor Voice technology, the Active version features the same top-quality experience as the Elite 7 Pro, with four built-in microphones for call technology and an additional two for personalisation plus adjustable ANC. In addition, based on Jabra’s unique understanding of the ear, the use of liquid silicone rubber, and a wing-free design, the new Elite 7 Active with ShakeGrip coating is designed to give the ultimate fit whatever your movements, changing the way people work out. For those who want to go outside whilst being active, the microphone mesh removes wind from calls, whilst the performance-boosting audio ensures a powerful workout music experience.
Jabra Elite 3
The Jabra Elite 3 is the perfect choice for those seeking a rich sound, powerful bass, and clear calls at a lower price point. After recognising a gap in the market for a lower price earbud that still offers the exceptional sound quality, Jabra has used its years of experience to make great sound an option for everyone. The earbuds are engineered to bring music to life with 6mm speakers and deliver crystal clear calls with 4-microphone call technology, a class-leading music equaliser, inclusion of Qualcomm aptX HD audio, and seven hours of battery life (28 hours including the charging case).
The earbuds offer outstanding noise isolation and with HearThrough awareness, users can tap into the sounds of their surroundings. Elite 3 also comes with an all-day comfortable and secure fit, sleek Danish design, and in a new range of colours including Dark Grey, Navy, Lilac, and Light Beige. René Svendsen-Tune, CEO at Jabra said, “We are more connected than ever before. The world has also never been noisier, which requires innovative technology to ensure people can be assured of a clear voice, calls, and music experience. At Jabra, we take our many years of experience to push the boundaries of technology, with the launch of our Elite 7 Pro, Elite 7 Active, and Elite 3 earbuds as a result. The introduction of these new products signifies huge developments within the market, and we are excited to be at the forefront.”
The Elite 7 Pro will be available for a price of AED 799. Stocks will be available in the second week of October. The Elite 7 Active is priced at AED 699 and stocks will be available end of Oct/early Nov. The Elite 3 is priced at AED 349 and stocks are already available in the market.
