Bose Intros QuietComfort 45 and Smart Soundbar 900 in the UAE

Bose has launched the new Smart Soundbar 900 — a Dolby Atmos speaker that provides unmatched immersion for music and movies. With proprietary Bose spatial technologies, the 900 elevates Dolby Atmos content by separating instruments, dialogue, and effects, and then places them in discrete parts of a room — far above, and to the far right and left. It also elevates content other than Dolby Atmos by providing a comparable experience no matter what you’re listening to or watching. Featuring HDMI eARC, the Soundbar 900 connects to a TV with just one cable, and packs all its technology in a gorgeous single enclosure.
It features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for the best of both worlds, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for voice control, a simple app for touch control, and is compatible with Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, and all other Bose smart speakers for a premium audio multi-room system. The Soundbar 900 is an all-in-one powerhouse that replaces the Bose Smart Soundbar 700, is available starting 11th November for AED 4,199 at Bose stores and select resellers.
The Smart Soundbar 900 puts you in the centre of your music or movies in an entirely new way. By combining custom arrays, dipole transducers, and low-profile transducers with Bose spatial technologies, it produces a layer of realism no other speaker can duplicate.
While conventional Dolby Atmos soundbars create sound “overhead,” the 900 does more. Bose PhaseGuide technology adds other dimensions just as precisely, placing and “pinning” distinct sound to the right and left where there are no speakers. So the helicopter hovers above you — while the actors run past you, not across your screen. Or the singer is standing centre-left when performing — and you hear them performing centre-left in your room. When there’s no Dolby Atmos content, the horizontal spatial effects are just as effective, and Bose TrueSpace technology takes over for the vertical experience, remixing signals to add “height” without adding a ceiling speaker.
For programming or playlists, Bose QuietPort technology delivers exceptional bass performance and virtually no distortion at any volume. And if furnishings or system placement interfere with audio quality, proprietary ADAPTiQ technology automatically fixes it, optimizing performance for every space, every time. The Soundbar 900 is a mere 5.82cm high, just over 10cm deep, and 104cm long. It features an oval-shaped design, wraparound metal grille, tight seams, clean lines, and a polished, impact-resistant tempered glass top. It fits beautifully under televisions 50″ or larger.
The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 delivers instant gratification across the board. Setup is straightforward with HDMI eARC and one cable that plugs into the TV. With Wi-Fi, accessing Spotify Connect and AirPlay 2 is easy; with Bluetooth, pairing to a phone or tablet takes seconds. Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa are built-in for voice control — and Alexa extends to taking and making calls, and enables the exclusive Bose Voice4Video feature that turns a TV on to the channel or input asked for — with just one command.
For true flexibility, the 900 works seamlessly and wirelessly with Bose bass modules and rear speakers for a more complete home theatre experience; Bose smart speakers for a multi-room or whole-home system; and the new QuietComfort 45 headphones for the ultimate private watch party. The Bose Music app helps with pairing, personalisation, and updates.
Bose also announced the launch of the new QuietComfort 45 headphones, replacing the legendary QuietComfort 35 II with improved noise cancellation for instant quiet anywhere, new AWARE Mode to let the world back in, better voice isolation for easier conversations, and 24-hour battery life on a single charge. The QuietComfort 45 maintains the hallmarks of its predecessor with amazing audio performance, all-day comfort and stability, super-simple controls, rock-solid connectivity, and an update to the iconic design that made QCs one of the most recognizable wearables ever. The QuietComfort 45 headphones will be available starting November 11 for AED 1,349 at Bose stores and select resellers.
“QuietComfort headphones are legendary for a reason,” said Mehul Trivedi, category director, Bose wearable audio. “What started as a product for traveling became a product that makes every day better and easier for millions of people all over the world. Our customers have told us for years that it’s the balance of benefits that make a QuietComfort so different and indispensable. They’ve always been a great example of excelling where it matters most. And the QC45s are no different.”
The QuietComfort 45 headphones feature just two settings, both achieved using a new active noise cancellation system and new electronics package. In QUIET Mode, microphones inside and outside the earcups combine with a proprietary digital chip to sense, measure and respond to more unwanted sounds in mid-range frequencies — those typically found in commuter trains, busy office spaces, and cafés. The now-famous “whoosh” associated with Bose noise cancelling technology happens in a fraction of a millisecond to tune out entirely or enjoy music, podcasts, or movies with lifelike clarity, detail, and no distractions. In AWARE Mode, QC45 headphones switch to full transparency, where everything is heard again – just as naturally, clearly, and quickly — without ever taking them off.
For phone calls and commands, QC45 owners can share their noise cancellation. A beam-form array isolates their voice, while a rejection array dampens and blocks the audible distractions around them — like a coffee grinder or barking dog — from being picked up and transmitted to whomever they’re talking to. That means friends, family, coworkers, and personal assistants can hear what’s being said, paving the way for more productive Zoom meetings, happier video chats, and more accurate VPA responses on everything from text dictation to getting directions to controlling a smart home.
The QC45 builds on the iconic look of its predecessor, maintaining all the design elements that made it an identifiable classic, and all the comfort and stability that made it an all-day-everyday headphone. Pleats and puckers have been removed from soft materials, gaps between components have been replaced with smooth transitions, and they’re durable, lightweight, and fold flat to store in an included compact carrying case. QC45 colors are timeless — Triple Black and White Smoke, both with a beautiful matte finish. And they join the QC Earbuds and Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 in the Bose noise-cancelling family.
QuietComfort 45 headphones are decidedly practical, keeping it simple with controls you can feel. There are four buttons on the right earcup: volume up, volume down, power, and Bluetooth® pairing, and one for the most common tasks — to answer and end calls, play and pause music, and access to native VPAs. There’s another button on the left earcup to toggle between Modes and to mute the mic during calls. The Bose Music app offers additional help for set up and use, including multi-point connections supported by Bluetooth 5.1 for iOS and Android devices — and Bose SimpleSync to pair a QC45 with compatible Bose Soundbars for the ultimate private watch party.
QC45 headphones have up to 24 hours of battery life — outlasting the longest flights in the world, 20 back-to-back conference calls, or study all-nighters with time to spare. They now charge via USB-C: it takes two hours for a full charge, and a quick 15 minutes for three hours of playback.

Huawei has launched its latest audio innovation, the HUAWEI FreeArc, further solidifying its leadership in the fast-growing open-ear wearables segment. Designed for comfort and situational awareness, the FreeArc offers a secure, pressure-free fit without blocking the ear canal—catering to users who demand high-quality audio without sacrificing awareness of their surroundings.
Open-ear earbuds, which sit outside the ear rather than inside it, have surged in popularity due to their comfort and safety benefits, particularly for fitness enthusiasts, commuters, and professionals. According to Canalys, global shipments of open-ear headphones reached nearly 8 million units in Q3 2024—a staggering fourfold increase from the same period last year.
Huawei has been at the forefront of this shift. The company ranked first in global wearable shipments for the first three quarters of 2024 (IDC), backed by its extensive audio R&D network—including seven research centers, over 1,000 audio specialists, and more than 250 patents. Its first open-ear model, the HUAWEI FreeClip, has already surpassed 2 million units shipped worldwide, demonstrating strong consumer demand for innovative wearable audio solutions.
Huawei’s journey in open-ear wearables began in 2019 with its collaboration with Gentle Monster on HUAWEI Eyewear, blending fashion with cutting-edge audio technology. The FreeClip, launched later, marked Huawei’s entry into the Open Wireless Stereo (OWS) category, featuring a flexible C-bridge design for a lightweight, breathable fit.
Now, the FreeArc takes this legacy further as Huawei’s first open-ear earbuds with earhooks. Built with a nickel-titanium alloy frame, the new model enhances stability and adaptability for a wider range of ear shapes while retaining the signature C-bridge comfort. Engineered for active lifestyles, the FreeArc boasts an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance, making it ideal for workouts, travel, and daily commutes. Key enhancements include:
- High-sensitivity drivers for crisp, balanced sound
- Dual-Resonator Antenna for stronger connectivity
- Wind-resistant microphones for clearer calls in outdoor environments
With the FreeArc, Huawei continues to refine its open-ear offerings, combining ergonomic design with practical durability.

TOZO NC9 Earbuds Review: Budget ANC Earbuds With a Battery Display

The TOZO NC9 is a pair of true wireless earbuds featuring Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a sleek design, and solid audio performance at a competitive price. TOZO has built a reputation for delivering affordable yet capable audio gear, but does the NC9 stand out in a market flooded with budget ANC options? Let’s take a closer look.
Design and Build Quality
The TOZO NC9 adopts a minimalist in-ear design. The earbuds have a matte finish that resists fingerprints and smudges, maintaining a clean look even with frequent use. Each earbud weighs just 5 grams, making them comfortable for extended wear, and they come with three pairs of silicone ear tip sizes to ensure a secure fit.
The charging case is compact and pocket-friendly, featuring a smooth, pebble-like shape with a satisfying magnetic snap closure. While the build is primarily plastic—expected at this price—the overall feel is sturdy and well-constructed.
One of the standout features of the charging case is that it has an LED display on the front that shows the battery level of the case and the earbuds. Another notable highlight is the IPX6 water resistance, which makes the NC9 resistant to sweat and light rain, adding durability for workouts and outdoor use.
Technical Specifications
The TOZO NC9 is equipped with Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring a stable connection with minimal latency. It features Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation, capable of reducing ambient noise by up to 35dB, and is powered by 9mm dynamic drivers for audio output.
While the earbuds support SBC and AAC codecs, the absence of aptX or LDAC means audiophiles may miss higher-resolution streaming. Battery life is solid, offering up to 6 hours of playback with ANC enabled (24 hours with the case) and 9 hours without ANC (40 hours with the case). Charging is handled via USB-C, with a full recharge taking about two hours, and the case also supports wireless charging for added convenience. Touch controls are fully customizable through the TOZO companion app, allowing users to tailor gestures for playback, calls, and ANC modes.
Audio Performance
The 9mm dynamic drivers deliver a V-shaped sound signature, emphasizing bass and treble while slightly recessing the mids. This tuning makes the NC9 particularly well-suited for bass-heavy genres such as EDM, hip-hop, and pop, though vocals and acoustic instruments may not be as pronounced as on more neutral-sounding earbuds.
The bass response is punchy and deep without becoming muddy, while the treble remains crisp, though it can get slightly harsh at higher volumes. The midrange is clear but not as forward as some listeners might prefer, which may affect the naturalness of voices and certain instruments.
When it comes to Active Noise Cancellation, the NC9 performs admirably for its price, effectively dampening low-frequency noises such as airplane engines, traffic, and air conditioning. However, higher-pitched sounds (such as chatter or barking dogs) are less effectively blocked. The Transparency Mode works well, allowing external sounds to pass through clearly when needed.
Battery Indicator Screen
One of the standout features of the NC9, as mentioned before, is its LED battery percentage display on the charging case. Unlike many budget earbuds that rely on vague LED indicators, this small screen provides an exact remaining charge percentage, eliminating guesswork and ensuring you always know how much battery is left.
Additional Features
The TOZO companion app enhances the user experience by allowing customization of the EQ, touch controls, and ANC settings. A low-latency mode helps reduce audio lag for gaming and video watching, though some minor delay may still be noticeable.
The earbuds also support multi-point connectivity, enabling simultaneous pairing with two devices—a useful feature for switching between a phone and laptop. Pairing is quick and hassle-free, with most devices recognizing the NC9 instantly.
Verdict
The TOZO NC9 delivers very good ANC performance for its price, along with a comfortable, secure fit and IPX6 water resistance. The battery life is solid, and the inclusion of wireless charging and a battery percentage display adds convenience rarely seen in budget earbuds. Sound quality is energetic and bass-forward, making these a great choice for casual listeners and commuters.
While the ANC is effective for low-frequency noise, it struggles with higher-pitched sounds. The lack of aptX or LDAC support may disappoint those seeking higher-resolution audio, and the V-shaped tuning might not suit listeners who prefer balanced mids.
If you’re looking for affordable ANC earbuds with good battery life, wireless charging, and a useful battery display, the TOZO NC9 is an excellent choice. However, if you prioritize audiophile-grade sound or stronger ANC for voices and sharp noises, you may want to consider higher-end models.
Pros:
✅ Strong ANC for the price
✅ Good battery life with wireless charging
✅ Clear battery percentage display
✅ Comfortable, secure fit with IPX6 rating
✅ Customizable via TOZO app
Cons:
❌ No aptX/LDAC for high-res audio
❌ Mid-range clarity could be better
❌ ANC struggles with high-frequency noise
Price: AED 150
TOZO NC9 ANC Earbuds AED 150
Summary
When it comes to Active Noise Cancellation, the NC9 performs admirably for its price, effectively dampening low-frequency noises such as airplane engines, traffic, and air conditioning.
