Huawei Announces the new Mate 50 Pro

Huawei has announced the launch of the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro, the latest member of its flagship Mate series, in the UAE. The device is equipped with a range of cutting-edge technologies and is designed to offer users an enhanced smart device experience. To celebrate the launch and the fourth anniversary of the AppGallery in the MEA region, the Burj Khalifa was lit up in a dazzling display in Downtown Dubai.

The HUAWEI Mate50 Pro is a major step forward in smartphone aesthetics, thanks to its symmetrical Space Ring Design. The device also boasts an Ultra Aperture XMAGE Camera, which features the first-ever 10-scale adjustable physical aperture and offers users the most versatile photography capabilities ever seen on a HUAWEI Mate smartphone. In terms of performance, the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro is armed with the ultra-reliable “Kunlun Glass,” which increases its drop resistance by 10 times. These robust features are enhanced by the futuristic Super Device and EMUI 13 operating system, which is debuting on the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro and offers users a range of seamless smart services.
The new HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro will be available for pre-order in the UAE starting December 16th, with prices starting at AED 3999 for the Orange Vegan Leather, Silver, and Black versions. All pre-orders in the UAE will come with a gift package worth 1230 AED, including the new HUAWEI Watch GT3 SE, a HUAWEI Music and HUAWEI Video+ free 6-month VIP subscription, HUAWEI Mobile Cloud 200 GB 3-month free, 12 months of multi-country warranty service, and more.
In addition to its signature Mate Series design language of iconic symmetry and Space Ring Design, the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro also features the elegant Clous de Paris step-patterned embossing design for the first time, showcasing a new kind of ordered beauty that is crafted down to the last detail. The HUAWEI Mate50 Pro comes with two different types of rear covers: glass and vegan leather. The glass cover is available in Silver and Black, which give the phone a distinct, elegant finish. The vegan leather version comes in Orange, inspired by the radiant orange rays of the sun.
Huawei launched its mobile imaging brand “XMAGE” in July 2022, with the goal of offering consumers a new shooting paradigm that combines science, culture, aesthetics, and technology in terms of technologies, imaging style, and shooting experience. The HUAWEI Mate50 Pro features a cutting-edge Ultra Aperture XMAGE Camera with a 10-size adjustable physical aperture, which incorporates key advances in the optical system, mechanical structure, imaging technology, and image processing. The smart aperture adjusts automatically to match the aperture size with the scene and shooting scenario in Auto mode. Switching to Professional mode allows users to manually adjust the depth of field and degree of blur.
Advanced hardware and algorithms are deeply embedded in the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro to enhance static image shooting. The Ultra Aperture Camera comes equipped with an F1.4 large aperture and works with the XD Fusion Pro image engine and high light intake to set the image brightness, light and shadow details, and cold and warm comparisons to perfection. The Portrait mode applies natural background blurring to make the subject stand out from their surroundings.
The Night mode captures photos with highly distinct bright and dark regions, even in dimly lit environments. The periscope telephoto camera supports a zoom range of up to 200x, bringing scenes from the great beyond right in front of your eyes. The wide-angle macro camera magnifies details from tiny worlds, presenting millimeter-level strands and dew droplets with outstanding clarity. The HUAWEI Mate50 Pro also supports macro video shooting and macro picture-in-picture (PiP) to accurately convey scenes in motion.
The HUAWEI “Kunlun Glass” consists of 10 quadrillion-level nanocrystals, which are the result of composite ion strengthening and make the glass more resilient and drop resistant, as verified by the first-ever five-star glass drop resistance certification from Switzerland’s SGS. This makes the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro the first phone to ever achieve this certification. The HUAWEI Mate50 Pro also supports IP68-rated water resistance of up to 6 meters underwater, allowing it to easily handle wet and dusty environments.
The HUAWEI Mate50 Pro features a 6.74-inch HUAWEI FullView Display with a screen resolution of 2616 x 1212 pixels and a high refresh rate of 120Hz and 1440Hz PWM dimming to reduce flickering and relieve eye fatigue. The display also covers the P3 wide color gamut, ensuring that colors are accurately reproduced for a more authentic viewing experience.
The smartphone also packs a 4700 mAh battery, which offers 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge wired and 50W HUAWEI SuperCharge wireless fast-charging solutions for a balanced combination of battery life, fast charging, and portability. Additionally, the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro comes with an Emergency Mode that activates when the battery level falls to 1%, extending the standby time by three hours or providing 12 minutes of call time.
The HUAWEI Mate50 Pro also features SuperStorage technology, which removes duplicate files and compresses rarely-used apps, preserving up to 20GB (on a phone with 256GB of ROM) of storage space. This allows users to free up more space for their photos and videos.
The HUAWEI Mate50 Pro is the first smartphone from Huawei to run on EMUI 13, which streamlines daily interactions with effortless one-touch navigation. EMUI 13 introduces the Super Device SuperHub feature, an innovative file transfer capability. Users can simply press and hold on any text, pictures, videos, and files, and drag them to SuperHub’s floating window to store the files temporarily. Users can then switch to another application, and select the files within the SuperHub for a seamless cut and paste. With the batch transfer capability, users can also use SuperHub for multi-file transfer between their smartphone, tablet, and PC.
On one hand, it improves efficiency and avoids the process of users switching back and forth between multiple applications and duplicating them. On the other hand, the visual presentation of the copied content allows users to freely combine and arrange the copied content, which brings higher information transmission efficiency. With EMUI 13, Multi-Screen Collaboration now also supports Multi-Window on HUAWEI Notepad and the proprietary Mail app. When the smartphone and PC are connected via Super Device, users can now enable split-screen usage of the mobile apps on the PC screen, bringing more convenience when browsing and using apps.
Additionally, EMUI 13 brings enhanced cross-device collaboration capabilities with Super Device, supporting up to 10 types of smart device connectivity combinations and collaboration. AMD Intros Next-Gen RX 9060 XT at COMPUTEX 2025

Reporting from Taipei, Taiwan: AMD has officially revealed its latest midrange GPU, the Radeon RX 9060 XT, at COMPUTEX 2025, setting up a direct showdown with Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Ti. Built on 4nm RDNA 4 architecture, the new card brings notable upgrades, including 32 compute units, 64 AI accelerators, and 32 ray-tracing cores, positioning it as a strong competitor in the mainstream gaming market.
The RX 9060 XT will be available in 8GB and 16GB GDDR6 configurations, though Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Ti retains an edge in memory bandwidth thanks to its 28 Gb/s GDDR7 (delivering 448 GB/s vs. AMD’s ~322 GB/s on a 128-bit bus). Real-world performance comparisons will be crucial to determine how much this gap impacts gaming.
AMD has set the boost clock at up to 3.13 GHz, with an impressive 821 TOPS for AI workloads—a key focus in modern gaming and content creation. Power efficiency looks promising, with a TDP between 150W and 182W, while connectivity includes PCIe 5.0 x16, DisplayPort 2.1a, and HDMI 2.1b. Early indications suggest the RX 9060 XT will excel at 1080p gaming and handle 1440p smoothly, but 4K enthusiasts may still prefer the RX 9070 or 9070 XT for higher settings.

These announcements coincide with a significant milestone: Intel’s 40th anniversary in Taiwan, a celebration of four decades of collaboration and innovation within Taiwan’s dynamic tech ecosystem around the x86 architecture. Intel emphasized the ongoing importance of x86 in accelerating innovation as high-performance AI applications demand more computational power.

New Intel Arc Pro B-Series GPUs for AI and Workstation Performance
Expanding its professional graphics lineup, Intel introduced the Intel Arc Pro B60 and Intel Arc Pro B50 GPUs. Built on the advanced Xe2 architecture, these cards boast Intel Xe Matrix Extensions (XMX) AI cores and cutting-edge ray tracing units, delivering robust performance for creators, developers, and engineers.

Specifically designed for demanding AI inference tasks and professional workstation applications, the Arc Pro B-Series GPUs offer AI-ready capabilities, with the B60 featuring 24 gigabytes (GB) of memory and the B50 offering 16GB. Intel also previewed Project Battlematrix, a configurable workstation-class platform powered by Intel Xeon processors. This platform aims to streamline AI development by supporting up to eight Intel Arc Pro B60 24GB GPUs, enabling the training of medium-sized (up to 150 billion parameters) and accurate AI models with a total of up to 192GB of video random-access memory.
Sampling of the Intel Arc Pro B60 GPU from add-in board partners like ASRock, Gunnir, Lanner, Maxsun, Onix, Senao, and Sparkle will begin in June 2025. The Intel Arc Pro B50 GPU will be available through Intel-authorized resellers starting in July 2025.
Intel Gaudi 3 AI Accelerators Available for PCIe and Rack Scale Deployments
Further solidifying its AI strategy, Intel announced new deployment options for its Intel Gaudi 3 AI accelerators. Intel Gaudi 3 PCIe cards will support scalable AI inferencing within existing data center server environments. These cards offer the flexibility to run various AI models, from Llama 3.1 8B to full-scale Llama 4 Scout or Maverick, catering to businesses of all sizes. The Intel Gaudi 3 PCIe cards are slated for availability in the second half of 2025.
Intel Gaudi 3 rack scale system reference designs are engineered for both flexibility and scale, accommodating up to 64 accelerators per rack and providing a massive 8.2 terabytes (TB) of high-bandwidth memory. Their open, modular design aims to prevent vendor lock-in. Equipped with liquid cooling, these systems are designed for robust performance and efficient total cost of ownership (TCO).
The Intel Gaudi rack scale architecture is optimized for running large AI models and excels in real-time inferencing with low-latency performance. These configurations underscore Intel’s commitment to open, flexible, and secure AI infrastructure, supporting both custom and Open Compute Project (OCP) designs for cloud service providers (CSPs).
Intel AI Assistant Builder Now Publicly Available
Following its initial reveal at CES 2025, Intel AI Assistant Builder is now publicly available in beta on GitHub. This lightweight, open software framework enables developers to build and run custom AI agents locally on Intel-based AI PCs. With Acer and ASUS showcasing innovative solutions at COMPUTEX, Intel AI Assistant Builder empowers developers and partners to rapidly create and deploy tailored AI agents for their organizations and end customers.
